Ben B. Bowen, 87, a loving husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, after a year-long illness. Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woodland West Church of Christ, 3101 W. Park Row, Arlington. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth.
Ben was born Oct. 14, 1924, on the north side of Fort Worth to Russell and Bessie Bowen. He graduated from Paschal High School in 1943 and went on to join the U.S. Army Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. He later retired from Burlington Northern after 40 years of service. He was formerly employed by Weiser Security and was a member of Woodland West Church of Christ.
Survivors: His loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy James Bowen; sons, Ben Craig Bowen and Bruce L. Bowen; grandson, Ben Ryan Bowen and wife, Starlinda; and great-grandchildren, Bishop, Breleigh and Reagan.
