ADAMS- A good man passed away when Squire Logan Beecher Adams breathed his last breath at Hustonville Thursday night. He was one of those modest but gallant ex-Confederates-the salt of the earth. He was born in McNairy county, Tenn., April 27, 1830, but had been one of Lincoln county's best citizens since February, 1879. In October of 1851 he married Miss Martha Jane Bright, oldest daughter of the late Greenberry Bright, and 10 children and 16 grandchildren, all living, are fruits of their union. Squire Adams was high up in Masonry, having been a member of that order since he was 21. He was a universally popular gentleman and to know him was to like him. After a beautiful funeral service by Rev. W.W. Bruce, of Perryville, the remains were turned over to the Masons who laid them away to rest in Hustonville Cemetery. Peace to his ashes. May the sod lie gently on his grave.
