John A. Bach, 79, for many years active in societies affiliated with Assumption Church, died Thursday morning at his home, 111 Pond Lane, after a prolonged illness. A native of Germany, he had made his home in Syracuse 50 years. He was a comunicant [sic] of Assumption Church nearly half a century and was a member of its Holy Name Society and St. Fediles [sic; Fidelis] Society. Surviving are four sons, John, Frank, Fred and William Bach; three daughters, Mrs. Henry J. Jaeger, Mrs. Claude Ramish and Miss Clara Bach, and a sister, Mrs. John Roschin. Rites will be conducted Monday at 9:30 A. M. at the family home and at 10 o'clock in Assumption Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.

John A. Bach, who died Thursday, was buried Monday in Assumption Cemetery. The funeral was conducted from the home, 111 Pond Lane, at 9:30 A.M. and a half hour later a solemn high mass of requiem was celebrated in Assumption Church by the Very Rev. Engelbert Eichenlaub, assisted by the Rev. Fidelis Chukinas as deacon and the Rev. Edmund [Zeinsmann?] as subdeacon. Bearers were Charles Ruschin, Jacob Hunkler, Raymond Rousche, John Phelan, Carl Beck and George Rulz.
