Eva was raised as a Roman Catholic.

Eva was born at Butzdorf, Landkreis Merzig-Wadern, Saarland, Prussia on 15 August 1872; was christened nearby at Tettingen on 16 August 1872; died at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital, Two Rivers, Manitowoc Co., Wisconsin on 6 March 1964, of a cerebral hemorrhage aged 91 years [Taufebuchen, Book 3, page 30, no. 14; Manitowoc Co. Her baptism was witnessed by Eva ZEHREN of Gentser and Jacob BEINNIG of Butzdorf.

As a 2-year-old girl, Eva immigrated with her parents to the Port of New York in May 1875 on the Westphalia from Hamburg, Germany, settling at Mishicot, Manitowoc Co., Wisconsin, by 1880 [Filby, Lists of Passengers and Immigrants, p. 85-88; Her Obituary; 1900, 1910, and 1920 U.S. Censuses, Wisconsin, Manitowoc Co.].

She removed with her parents to LaFayette, Chippewa Co., Wisconsin, circa 1884.

Her marriage to Hans Peder BROCHER in an ecclesiastical service at Chippewa Falls, Chippewa Co., Wisconsin, on 14 November 1895, was witnessed by Andrew BROWN and Minnie LLOYD [Chippewa Co., Marr. Rec., vol. G, p. 314, filed 16 Nov. 1895].

Eva and her family lived at Merrill, Lincoln Co., Wisconsin, from 1900 until 1917, where they owned and operated a dairy farm.
