Betty Ann Adams Runnels, was a Thursday's child with far to go, born on May 5, 1938, during a time of not much money and not much of anything.. the second child with flaming red hair, big blue eyes and fair skin to parents of which her father we never knew....her mother a tall thin woman with hardness on her face, already weathered from tough times of her own....she grew up poor and learned shame at a very early age....her father, a tall, thin man with red hair and a big dimple in his chin which would be the only two traits i saw that my mother got from him. Momma was out-doorsy...loved to fish and to take nature walks and oddly enough loved to visit old cemeteries....she said that it was a comfort to her knowing where she would be buried. One night while playing gin rummy on her bed she spoke quietly about life and death and the fact that no matter how long she lived 50 or 90, she was sure that it would never be enough. She married Johnnie Bob Runnels, August 10, 1957 and if you look closely at the headstone it says August 12, 1957.. dad got it wrong...which i am sure would not surprise my mom. She had 5 children Celeste, Cecile, Chris, Camille and Curtis. She knew 10 of her grandchildren while she lived, Courtney, Anthony, Michael, Jake, Jason, Josh, Christina, Casey, Allen and Clay and missed out on 4 more to come along, Jory, Savannah, Scarlet and Sawyer. Today she would be proud to know she has 9 great grandchildren, Haylei, Aidan, Wyatt, Ethan, Ellie, Emmie, Aaron, Gage and Cade with one more girl on her way in Chloe Ann. Momma departed this life June 4, 1992, leaving behind grieving family that miss her every single day. Like the song says "we will meet you on that beautiful shore" love you Momma...
