Patrick Louis Abadie (1945 - 2011)

Patrick Louis Abadie, 66, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, in Arlington. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Friday at New World United Methodist Church, 2201 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, the Rev. Gordon Johnson officiating. Interment: 10:15 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home. Patrick was born March 15, 1945, in San Antonio to Victor Hugo Abadie and Rena Mae Thomas Abadie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1963 to 1966. A resident of Arlington for 33 years, Patrick retired after 30 years with IBM as a computer engineer. He enjoyed airplanes and held a pilot's license. Always the perfectionist, Patrick also enjoyed painting and woodworking, and was a coin collector who enjoyed the history of currency. Survivors: Wife of 20 years, Diane Abadie; sons, Preston L. Abadie, Fulton R. Abadie, Marcus A. Abadie and Aaron E. Abadie; daughters, Stacy L. Wilkinson and Michelle R. Park; brother, Edwin E. Abadie; 26 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
