Born May 27, 1932, in Galesburg to Harry Carl and Jenny A. Johnson Lagerstrom, he married Sally J. Sunderland on Dec. 25, 1951, in Galesburg.
He later married Rita M. Warmker on Aug. 31, 1972, in Quincy.
She died Nov. 4, 2003.
He also was preceded in death by one son, Paul W. Lagerstrom Jr.
Surviving are one daughter, Luan (and Terry) Swigert of Monmouth; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Irene (and Dale) Cotton of Sycamore; and one brother, Fred of Peoria.
An Air Force veteran, he served as a jet mechanic for four years with the Strategic Air Command from December 1951 to December 1955.
He was a salesman for several different companies in the Galesburg area. He moved to Arkansas in 1989.
He attended Nazarene and Lutheran churches in Galesburg.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville. The Rev. James Hazelwood will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded, and burial of ashes will be in Linwood Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285.
