Charles W. Adams, 67, 133 Hillrose Lane, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Oakmont East Living Center.

Born in Pickens County, South Carolina, a son of the late Cecil Clemmons and Viola Willimon Adams Gantt and stepson of the late Woodrow Gantt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and member of the Martin Grove Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Niki Cobb of Greenville; two sisters, Faye Wolfe, and Shirley Abercrombie and husband Charles, all of Pickens; and two granddaughters, Brittany Gibson of Greenville and Hannah Cobb of Greenwood. Mr. Adams was predeceased by a son, David Adams; and two sisters, LaJune Willhite and Patricia Gibson.

Funeral services will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Martin Grove Wesleyan Church with Reverend Harold Nicholson and Reverend Homer Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles Abercrombie, Rhett Reeves, Chuck Abercrombie, Travis Cassell, Zachary Abercrombie and Jason Stone.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Dillard Funeral Home prior to the services.

The family would like to thank the staff of Oakmont East Living Center and Heartland Hospice for their kindness and care.

The family is at the home of a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Charles Abercrombie, 126 Hillrose Lane, Pickens, SC.

Dillard Funeral Home is assisting the Adams family.
