Burlington Hawk Eye

John W. Rickey, 70, of Fisher, Ill., died at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Karle Hospital in Urbana, Ill. Born March 10, 1934, in Winfield, he was the son of Cloyce and Dorothy Chitwood Rickey. On Dec. 23, 1961, he married Joy Watson in Winfield.

Mr. Rickey was a manufacturing engineer at J.I. Case and Rockwell Standard before retiring.
He was a 1952 graduate of Winfield High School. He was an Army veteran and a member of AMVETS and Eagles Lodge in Fairfield.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mike (Keri) Rickey of Peoria, Ill., and Shawn Rickey of Fisher; two grandsons; and one sister, Caroline Mullen of Winfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, John Randall Rickey.

He was an army veteran and a member of AMVETS and Eagle's Lodge in Fairfied. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and camping.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. The funeral for Mr. Rickey will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home, with Deacon Del Curtis officiating.

Burial will be in Lambirth Cemetery on County Line Road.
