Emma was my grand aunt, Grandmother Parr's sister. The daughter of Sylvester Burt (1833-1913) and Sarah Jane Pierce Burt (1838-1916). She married John Frederick Fisher (1859-1931) in 1884, in Ravemia, OH. They were parents to Eugene Burt Fisher (1886-1965). Emma died unexpectedly during a visit to Florida, just 30 years old. The following from the personal diary of her father, Sylvester Burt: "On 23 Apr 1893 our daughter Emma Burt FISHER was called home after a brief illness in Daytona FL. Thirty years of bright life full of activity and useful deeds at home, in school, in society, in the church, she was called suddenly away. The dark mystery of why is it thus; remains unanswered, and again we leave it--God knows best. She was buried in the beautiful cemetery in Steubenville OH."
