Ae Kyong Kim Roberts passed away at her home in Albuquerque Sunday morning at 10:01 in the loving arms of her husband and family after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. "AK" as she was known to friends and family, was born on August 12, 1960 in South Korea where she was raised and educated. AK graduated from the University of Jang An in Suwon South Korea with a degree in Art and Design. AK was a pre-school art teacher in Seoul and a successful business owner of an Underwood Fashion Corporation store in Song Tan Korea. Ae Kyong was a daughter of Kim Ki Bok and Pak O So. Her father, a prominent South Korean politician and business owner, became a United States citizen and resided in Albuquerque until his death in 2001. Her mother Pak O So remains an Albuquerque resident. AK immigrated to the United States in 1992 and was married to Paul Roberts, LTC USAF in 1993. Paul and Ae Kyong made their home in Valparaiso, Florida where Paul works for the Boeing Corporation as a Department Director and Site Manager. AK was a devout Christian and was active in the Glory Baptist Church in Crestview, Florida and in the Korean United Methodist Church in Albuquerque. Ae Kyong contributed her time, efforts and money to numerous Christian charitable causes including the support of missionary work. She was active in spreading the Gospel and was a devoted wife whose gentle kindness of spirit and zest for life touched all who met her. Ae Kyong Roberts is survived by her husband, Paul; her step-children, SRA Sean Roberts of Misawa Japan, Heather Roberts, Milton, NY. LTC Doug Tracy and Hyun Kyoung Tracy, their daughters, Sara and Lora of Albuquerque, Mr.and Mrs Kim, Chin Suk of Song Tan Korea and their son, Jae Won of Albuquerque, Mr. and Mrs. Kwan of Seoul, Korea, Mr. and Mrs. Kim Jin Hyong of Seoul Korea, Mr. and Mrs, Kim Song Tae of Song Tan Korea and her mother, Pak O So of Albuquerque. Friends and family are invited to celebrate this wonderful persons Christian life at the viewing scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2002 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Boulevard NE Albuquerque, NM 87109. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2002 at the Korean United Methodist Church 3715 Silver AV SE Albuquerque, NM. Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery 7999 Wyomning Blvd NE. Contributions in Ae Kyong's name to the new church building fund, Korean United Methodist Church 3715 Silver Ave. SE Albuquerque, NM.
