Born June 19, 1914, in Franklin Township, Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Carrie Degroft Fritz.

She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg. She worked for the former Interwoven Mill, was a presser at the former Stanley Co. and worked for East Lincoln Cleaning Village, all in Chambersburg.

Her husband, C. Allen Barr, died Sept. 29, 1967. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Carol; three brothers, Milton Fritz, Melvin Fritz and Lester Fritz; and a sister, Kathryn Spielman.

Surviving are a daughter, Peggy J. Eger of St. Thomas; a grandson, James A. Myers of Chambersburg; a granddaughter, Heather L. Myers of Chambersburg; two great-granddaughters, Brittany R. Myers and Marena A. Lehman, both of Chambersburg; a sister, Jane A. Fritz of Chambersburg; nieces; and nephews, including a nephew whom she raised, Larry A. Fritz of Chambersburg.

Burial in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
