Drusilla was born Feb. 12, 1939, in Portales, N.M., to Harry and Mary Lena Burke. She was the second of four sisters. She met Larry Trainer in 1952 while in the seventh grade. Two weeks after graduating from high school, she and Larry were married on June 9, 1957. They moved to Roswell, N.M., where they became very involved with the First Baptist Church and also began growing their family. In 1973, the family relocated to the D/FW area where she found time to squeeze in 32 years of service with the Irving Independent School District. She remained active with church activities including choir and teaching first grade Sunday school for over 40 years. Drusilla's true calling was to be a mother and grandmother. She always had a love for music and enjoyed playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, AC and Wilma Trainer; and many aunts and uncles.
