Mildred Linnea Johnson, 94, died December 13, 2011 at Holcyon House Retirement Home, Methuen, where she had resided for the past 14 years. Her family is very grateful to the owners and staff for the loving care she received. Mildred was born in Belmont, MA, on March 10, 1917, to Herman A. and Nellie L. (Bengston) Engstrom. She was the wife of Carl B. Johnson, who died in 1997. They spent the majority of their married life in West Springfield, Ma. They were active members of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Springfield and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in East Longmeadow. They enjoyed summers at their cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee, sharing many good times there with family and friends. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her grandchildren, Karen Bonde Stasko and Eric Bonde. Mildred is survived by two children, Elizabeth Bonde and her husband Kenneth of Dover, NH, and Janet Johnson and her husband David of Freedom, NH, 2 granddaughters and 6 great grandchildren.
