Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Coffin was born in Perlee and lived in Des Moines 45 years.
He retired as a truck driver for American Freight, and was an Army Veteran of World War 2 and a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie; 2 sons Mike of Des Moines and Brian of Overland Park, Kansas; 2 daughters, Renee White and Penny Coffin, both of Des Moines; a brother, Dean of Mackinaw, Illinois; a sister, Lela Hysell of Washington, Iowa; 3 grandchildren; & 2 great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
