Mary Williams Brinton was a graduate of the Agnes Irwin School and the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing (1920). She served missions in Labrador and Alaska. She wrote her autobiography, My Cap and My Cape (1950), a children's fantasy The Magic White Gate (1958), We Followed the Stars: A Very Special Life (1980) and others. Ms. Brinton was also a nurse anesthetist at the Philadelhpia General Hospital and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. She was awarded the Margaretta Ansbach Award by Agnes Irwin School for contributions to the community.
