Roy L. Rewerts of Rt. 1, Butler Co. Rd. T 47, Parkersburg, Iowa, was born the son of Dick and Dora Claassen Rewerts on March 31, 1931, in Grundy County, near Dike, Iowa. He received his education in rural Butler County Schools, East of Parkersburg, Iowa.
On February 7, 1952, Roy was united in marriage to Georgia Nicklaus in St. Patricks Catholic Church in Parkersburg, Iowa. Following their marriage they lived on farms in the Dike area and moved to their present home, in 1965. The past 25 years, Roy worked for John Deere Tractor Works Co. in Waterloo, Iowa.
He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parkersburg. As a hobby he enjoyed repairing antique cars, going fishing, and motorcycling.
At 1:15 P.M. Friday, March 16, 1990, Roy died at the Hospice Unit of the Covenant Medical Center Kimball Ave., Waterloo, Iowa. He reached the age of 58 years, 11 months. He was preceeded in death by his parents, and an infant sister.
Roy is survived by his: wife, Georgia Rewerts, Rt. 1, Parkersburg; 4 daughters, Theresa, Mrs. Robert Williams, Rt. 1, Parkersburg, Lorilei, Mrs. Rolland Heidt, rural Dike, Darcy, Mrs. Wade Bertram, Aplington and Angela, Mrs. Curtis Mattingly, Belton, Mo.: 3 sons, Dale Rewerts and his wife, Joyce, Stout, Douglas Rewerts, rural Dike, and Patrick Rewerts, and his wife Tina, Irvine, Calif.: 10 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Luella Eiklenborg, Aplington, Viola, Mrs. Johnny Muller rural Allison, Mary Dixon, Waterloo, and Joan Moore, Hansel; and 3 brothers, Leo Rewerts, New Hartford, Dwight Rewerts, Omaha, Nebr., and Dean and Betty Rewerts, rural Allison.
Services 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 19, 1990, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Parkersburg, Iowa. Officiating Rev. Joseph McGuire. Readers: Ilene Shadlow, Ann Nicklaus.
