Abraham had four brothers: Alfred, James, Frederick, and Henry. He was a builder by trade and a prosperous business man. He was very astute with his affairs and according to his will left plenty in securities for his family to enjoy by just using the interest of dividends while leaving the principal invested.

Abraham married Emma Hart on 06 Aug 1828 at Christ Church Greyfriars Newgate,London,London,England. They had four children:

Eleanor Marie
Emma Alice

The Probate of Abraham's will was granted to his son, Daniel William Coates Ardley, one of the executors, on 11 Oct 1884. He died somewhere between 15 Apr 1868 and 16 Jun 1868. Abraham and his wife must have been living near St. Helen's at Bishopsgate, London at this time. Emma Hart died on Apr 4 1884 at Southmont Blunt Road, South Croydon, County of Surrey, England.
