William W. Boltz, widely known in the northern section of the county, as a retired farmer, died Thursday noon, at the home of his son, Herman Boltz, on Main Street, Jonestown. Mr. Boltz, who was 75 years of age, was stricken with paralysis a week ago, but appeared to be improving, when on Thursday he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and expired suddenly.
The decedent was born and reared in this county, and spent his early life in agriculture here. Later he moved to Dauphin County and was farming there when he retired several years ago. His wife died about ten years ago. He was a member of Shell's Reformed Church, Shellsville.
In addition to the son named, he leaves the following children: Warren, of Hershey; Dr. J. Harold, of Aurora, Ill., Clyde, of Annville Rural Route 2; Mrs. Clayton Hetrick and Mrs. Robert Sherk, of Palmyra, and Mrs. Earl Elliott, of Grantville Route 1. There are twenty grandchildren. Francis Boltz of Palmyra, is a brother, and Mrs. Edward Miller, of Fredericksburg and Mrs. Susanna Warfield, of Fleetwood, are sisters.
