Carl was born on October 16, 1947, in Manitowoc, son of the late Carl and Gladys (Hamernik) Kreie. He graduated from Manitowoc Lutheran High in 1966. Carl married Shirley Zirbel on May 10, 1969, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He was employed at the Manitowoc Company for 39 years until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley Kreie, Manitowoc; one daughter: Kristy Kreie, Manitowoc; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: James Ewald, Manitowoc; Joan (Don) Pahl, Maribel; Suzanne Diestler, Hartford; Laurel (Daniel) Fagan, Manitowoc; Anne (Russell) Vogt, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Sheila Ewald; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Roland and Mildred Zirbel; one brother-in-law: Louis Diestler
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 916 Pine Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Paul Schossow and Rev. Nicholas Maglietto will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family.
