Mr. Lear was employed by Victor Balata & Textile Belting Co.

Born in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Laura Margeson Lear.

A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Lester Pfeffer Post, American Legion, and the West Easton Fire Co.

The last child of Sylvester Lear who died in California when Ed's mother Gussie Lear was pregnant with him. Gussie and Ed's older siblings returned east to New Jersey, where he was born.
