..Smith, T.A., Brother Of∼Obit: D. G. SMITH BURIED TODAY AT CLINTON.
From Tuesday's Daily.
"Funeral services for D. G. Smith, aged 73, brother of T. A. Smith of this city, who died at El Reno, Ok. yesterday afternoon, were held this afternoon at Clinton, the former home of the deseased.
T. A. Smith received notification last night of the death of his brother who with himself and a brother, L. C. Smith of Clinton, had been a surviving member of a family of twelve children. The deceased succumbed to an illness from pneumonia and had been sick only a short time.
His relatives have the sympathy of their many friends in their bereavement".
Dear Ancestor:
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out on
Polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care,
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist,
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among
The ones you filled
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew,
That some day I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
