My Uncle Clarence was married to my mom's older sister, my Aunt Louise. They were married for more than 54 years and had 4 children together. He worked for the Anaconda Mining Company in Butte, Montana for 44 years. They retired to Orem, Utah in 1988.

He was previously married very young and had a son. The marriage ended in divorce. His former wife remarried and moved several states away. I don't think he ever saw their son again. He eventually allowed the stepfather to adopt the boy. He told my mother that he did so to spare him confusion growing up.

He started working in the mines when he was just 16 years old. He was a hard worker all his life. He later developed lung problems from the mining work and died of lung disease.

He married Anna Lorene Barraugh on December 6, 1937 at Missoula, Montana. They had a son, Robert Joseph. They later divorced.

He married my aunt, Hazel Louise Nash, on June 12, 1941 in Butte, Montana. They were sealed for eternity June 12, 1949 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

He was born to Robert Lee and Melissa Ingle Moran. After several moves, his family settled in Butte, Montana.

He is survived by his children, Clarence Robert Moran, Jr., Shirley Louise Lawrence, Linda Jean Stakebake, and Steven Lee Moran. At the time of his death, there were 15 living grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A granddaughter, Deborah Jean Clarke, preceded him in death.
