My Uncle Clarence was married to my mom's older sister, my Aunt Louise. They were married for more than 54 years and had 4 children together. He worked for the Anaconda Mining Company in Butte, Montana for 44 years. They retired to Orem, Utah in 1988.
He was previously married very young and had a son. The marriage ended in divorce. His former wife remarried and moved several states away. I don't think he ever saw their son again. He eventually allowed the stepfather to adopt the boy. He told my mother that he did so to spare him confusion growing up.
