William Henry Hannah immigrated to the United States when he was only a young boy. In 1861, at the age of 19, he enlisted in the United States Army. He joined Company K of the 4th Regiment of the US Artillery (New York) and served in the following battles:

Fair Oaks (June 1, 1862)
Savage Station (June 2, 1862)
Charles City Crossroads (June 5, 1862)
Glendale (June 30, 1862)
Malverne Hill (August 11, 1862)
Bull Run (August 29, 1862)
Chaditilly (August 31, 1862)
Fredericksburg (December 14, 1862)
Chancellorsville (May 1-4, 1863)
Gettysburg (July 1-3, 1863)

William Hannah married Margaret FEE and together they had Mary Annie HANNAH and Susan HANNAH. There were other children that did not survive into adulthood. I am working on finding these lost babies now. From what I am told, though William immigrated to America as a nine-year-old boy, he held on to his Irish accent.
