Gerald Bruce Lawson age 57 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Monday, February 7, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Lincoln on April 10, 1953 to Eugene Vernon and Jeannette Francis (Eberline) Lawson. Gerry worked for the Nebraska Military Department of 37 years as a graphic artist. Gerry married Carol Eckland on October 7, 1990 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He enjoyed visiting with people at length and found any topic interesting. He was a good listener, and helping others was second nature to him. He loved art, music, and life. He had a passion for college football, especially Notre Dame, and took many trips over the years with his friend, Drasis Pajeda to see the Fighting Irish play.

Gerry is survived by his wife Carol of Lincoln; mother, Jeannette of Lincoln; sisters, Nancy (Boyd) King of Lincoln; Susan (Jerry) Bradford of Lincoln; Janet (Kent) Alderin of North Dakota; brother, Tom (Kate) Lawson of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Pat Lawson of Lincoln; parents-in-law, Aldon and Donna Eckland of Scottsbluff; sisters-in-law, Lee (Greg) Green of Wedona, CO; Jeanne (Pat) Wicks of Lincoln; brother-in-law, Ken (Julie) Eckland of Scottsbluff; many nieces and nephews, and many special long-time friends including Drasis Pajeda, Todd and Rhonda Ball, Paul and Marji Morrison and Jerry Belford. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Lawson and a brother, Donald Lawson.

Cremation, no visitation.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
