Patsy Inez Saltsman Caraway, 71, of Denton, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. She was born on July 24, 1940 in Denton to George Saltsman and Ruby (Bland) Saltsman. She married William Earl Caraway in Gainesville on April 3, 1957. She was a charter member of the Singing Oaks Church of Christ. She retired from the Denton Post Office after 30 years of service and held the distinction of being the first female carrier and supervisor hired.
Patsy is survived by her husband, William; daughters, Ruthie Chisholm and husband Mark of Fort Worth and Kim Wiley and husband Don of Denton; son, Billy Caraway and wife, Rhonda of Denton; sisters, Dorothy Elrod of Artesia, NM, Mary Jane Joyner of Omaha, and Joyce McClerran of Sherman; brother, William Saltsman of Abilene; 7 grandchildren, Adam Chisholm, Christopher Downs, Hunter Caraway, Travis Wiley, Justin Wiley, Bailey Wiley, and Taryn Cawyer;and 3 great grandchildren, Blake Chisholm, Teagan Chisholm, and Camdyn Cawyer.She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Phillip Saltsman; and sisters, Alta Elrod and Linda Bradford.
