Josephine I. Schavey Wheeler/Hobart Josephine I. Schavey, age 78 of Wheeler, formerly of Hobart, passed away on December 26, 2003 at VNA Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso. She was a retired bartender for Hobart Lanes. Josephine was preceded in death by Husband Willard "Bill" Schavey and son Jeff Schavey. Survived by daughter, Jody (Tim) Major of Wheeler; son, Dennis (Deb) Schavey of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Ashley Major of Wheeler, Kristina Schavey of Wheeler, Samantha (Julian) Rosas of Lake Station and Jimmy, Johnny and Mikki Schavey of Hobart; 13 great grandchildren; niece Kathy Boring of Hobart and special friends, Pat Shroyer of Portage and Louise Kowalczyk of Portage. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at the Burns Funeral Home, Hobart (corner of Rt. 51 & 7th Street), Rev. Gary Nagy officiating. Interment in Calumet Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 2-8 p.m.
