Hugh Joseph O'Brien, 86, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Agape Hospice.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was a son of the late Hugh and Elizabeth O'Brien. Mr. O'Brien was a U.S. Army Air Corps WWII Veteran. He was an active member of the 90th Bomb Group 5th Air Force and was a Bombardier in a B-24 during WWII. He was a member of the Air Force Association and volunteered with the VA. Mr. O'Brien was also a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma O'Brien.
Survivors include his two daughters, Mary O'Brien of Surfside Beach and Agatha O'Brien-Gayes of Surfside Beach; two grandchildren, Preston O'Brien-Gayes of Surfside Beach and Emma O'Brien-Gayes of Surfside Beach.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Father Ray Carlo officiating. Burial will follow in Ocean Woods Cemetery.
