William James (Bill) Parton, 69 of 318 Neal Hawkins Road died December 3 1988 at his home. A native of Waynesville, he was the son of the late Joe Parton and Rosetta Greene.He was a former textile employee and member of the Penecostal Holiness Church of God.

Survivors include his wife Annie Helms Parton; four daughters Faye McDonald, Mildred Patterson, Gloria Stone and Ellen Mathews of Gastonia. Three sons Jimmy Parton of Belmont and David and Builly Parton of Gastonia. 33 great grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

His funeral was conducted at 4pm Monday at the Penecostal Holiness Church of God by Revs. SM Lane and Lude Atkins. Buried in Gaston Memorial Park.
