Paul B. Shear was born April 22, 1906, in Lebanon, South Dakota, the son of Carlos and Laura Shear. After the passing of his mother, Paul was raised by his grandparents, Calvin and Cynthia Zimmerlee in Bloom City, Wis. On June 8, 1936, Paul was united in marriage to the former Effie Warren. He worked as a cheese maker at the Fargo Cheese Factory for many years.
Mrs. Shear passed away in March of 1968. Paul passed away at the Vernon Memorial Hospital on Monday, Jan. 14, 1974, at the age of 67 yrs. He leaves to mourn his passing, one son, LaVerne of Vernon (Viroqua), 2 brothers, Edwin of Hillsboro, and Peter of S. Dak.
Blessed be the memory of Paul Shear. "Funeral services for Paul Shear were held on Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Liberty Pole Methodist Church with Reverend Robert Paulson officiating. Mr. Atley Fortney Jr. sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Margie Felde.
Serving as casket bearers were, Everret Latham, Lyall Latham, Arlan Latham, and Kenneth Warren, Arnold Cade and George Robson. The services and final interment in the Liberty Pole Cemetery were coordinated by the Beier Funeral Home Staff."
