Dorothy Irene Bishop, 99, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at Lakeview Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Boonville, Missouri. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, December 21st, at William Wood Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Thursday, December 22nd, at River of Life Assembly of God Church. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin, Missouri. She was born in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas on August 5, 1912 to Marion O. and Minnie Ellen Cleveland Hayes. She married William "Bill" A. Bishop on August 10, 1928 in Barnett, Mo. Mrs. Bishop was a very active life-long member of the Assembly of God Church and loved reading her Bible. She enjoyed quilting, canning and cooking. She is survived by 4 daughters, Jo Haller (Ed) of Boonville, Missouri, Rosa Markolf (Foster) of Carpinteria, California, Wilma Baslee (Wayne) of Sedalia, Missouri, Kay Meler (Jim) of New Franklin, Missouri; 3 sons, Lee Bishop (Barbara) of Columbia, Missouri, Bob Bishop (Sandy) of Ranier, Oregon, Jim Bishop (Margie) of Madison, Missouri; 2 brothers, Doug Hayes (Maggie) of Higbee, Missouri, Charles Hayes (Barbara) of Higbee, Missouri; 17 grandchildren, Vickie, Dawn, Jeff, June, Craig, Tim, Kim, Mitch, Kevin, Bill, Theresa, Elise, Jenny, Jason, Brian, Josh, Jeremy; 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sons, infant Leroy Bishop, Billy Don Bishop; 1 daughter, Etta Guthrie; 5 brothers; 3 sisters; 1 grandson, Jerry Parsons and 1 infant granddaughter, Susan Bishop.
