Artie Meriwether

Artie Leah M. Meriwether, 88, 220 Tenn. 76, died Thursday, June 16, 1994, at Spring Meadows Health Care Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Sherman officiating. Burial will be in Slaughter-Meriwether Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from noon Sunday until the time of service.

She was born March 4, 1906, in Cookeville, daughter of William Thomas Morrow and Nancy Moss Morrow. She was the widow of Sam Warfield Meriwether.

Mrs. Meriwether was a home-maker and a member of Woodmont Baptist Church, Nashville.

Survivors include nieces, nephews and two sisters-in-law, Drusilla C. Bumpus, Clarksville, and Dorothy M. Womack, Nashville.

Pallbearers will be David Heffington, Paul Heffington, Norman Young, Stephen Heffington, Gary Wallace, Ricky Young and Jonathan Heffington.Artie married Samuel (Sam) Meriwether on September 13, 1933. Sam was born June 22, 1903. They lived in Nashville, Tennessee, and they had no children.
