Eva Lou King
Mrs. Eva Lou King, 76, of the Ramhurst community in Murray County, departed this life Tuesday morning, Aug. 12, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was known to her family and friends as "Eve." Eve was born March 21, 1932, in Fannin County, a daughter of the late Jefferson Davis "Jep" and Bertha Allison Earley. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Martin; a sister, Ina Ridgeway and brothers, Wilburn Easley and Edel Earley.
She was retired from J&J; Industries after 43 years of service.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ilvert King of the residence; son, Lamar King of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Isaac and Shelly King, Isaiah and Brandy King, Laura and Scott Moore, Glenn and Becky Hampton, Gary Martin and Audrey and Roy Huffman; eight great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Luther and Mary Earley of Coker, Ala., and Dollie Earley of Dalton; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Eve King are Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. George Young and the Rev. Bobby Rogers officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her daughter at the King Family Cemetery in Murray County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today and Friday after 5 p.m.
