Other Survivors included a brother, Erastus Earl Arthur of Michigan City, Indiana, two sisters, Ruby Pearl (Roy) Howe of Houston, Indiana, and Ruth Beryl (Leston) Hillenburg of Bedford; his daughter, Sharon Rose Kirkman and a son, Steven Ray Arthur, both of Bedford, five grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Arthur had attended school in Heltonville and later worked for Hilderbrand Ford Motors, also as a pipefitter for National Valve & Piping, and had assisted other family members in restaurant operations. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lizzie Arthur in infancy, and two brothers, Roscoe Harold ("Peanut") Arthur in 1978 and Rollie Merle Arthur in 1981.
Funeral services were conducted from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, and he was honored with a Police Honor Guard and Escort to his final resting place at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
