Mr. James Arthur Stroupes, Sr was born to the late Henry and Pearl Stroupes on July 28, 1925 in Little River, County, Wilton, Arkansas. He attended Rosidale School.James was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Army. He was honorably discharged in 1946.In 1947 he met and married Cora Lee Marshall. To this union, 4 children were born(James, Minnie, Raymond and Albert)In 1979, he met and married Dorothy Bonds. They were married 25 years until his passing.He departed this life, December 12, 2003 in Dallas, Texas. Survivors include: his loving wife, Dorothy Stroupes, 2 daughters, Minnie Neal(Fugusta)and Faye Traylor(Rev Ivan Traylor), 10 sons, James Stroops(Gracie), Raymond Stroupe, Albert Lee Stroupe, Roland Davis(Carolyn), Kevin Rogers(Johnie), Wayne Rogers, LaRue Bonds(Leslie), Carl Bonds(Linda), Roderick Bonds(Angelyn) and Alfred Bonds(Renee); 70 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mary Johnson, Minnie Coffey, and Susie Stroops. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers,James Oliver Stroops, Ocie Stroupe, and Baby Joe R Stroupe; and 3 sisters Marie Stroop, Bertha Stroop and Annie Stroop. Services were held December 18, 2003 at New Birth Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
