Mrs. Mary E. Lowe, 76 years old, died of paralysis Sunday at midnight at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. C.F. Reed, East Kirkwood avenue. Her illness covered a period of three years.
Mrs. Lowe has been a resident of Monroe county all her life, living in Harrodsburg the greater part of it, but having spent the last fifteen years in Bloomington.
She was married in 1858 to Franklin E. Woodward. To this union was born four children, of which three survive, E.L. Woodward of Indianapolis, Mrs. C.F. Reed, this city, and Mrs. E.T. Collings of Phoenix, Ariz., Hollis Woodward of Lebanon preceding her in death eleven years.
She is also survived by six step children, Simpson B. Lowe of Bedford, Miss Kate Lowe, Edward Lowe and Luther Lowe of Harrodsburg, and Mrs. E.T. Foster and Arthur Lowe of Worthington.
Ms. Lowe was widowed in 1866 and fourteen years later married William J. Lowe, who died in April, 1899. She was a life-long member of the Methodist church and a woman who made many friends, who will regret to hear of her death.
She was represented in the present war of every grandson, seven in number.
The burial will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Harrodsburg, where there will be short services. Friends may view the remains until 8 o’clock Tuesday morning, but it is requested that they do not send flowers.
