Billy G. "Chris" Christian, 81, Emporia, KS was born July 13, 1930 at Caruthersville, MO to Clifford and Cecile (Medlin) Christian. He passed away on December 23, 2011 at his home in Emporia, KS.
He married Margaret Rogers in Topeka, Kansas. She preceded him in death on September 7, 2005.
Mr. Christian served his country in the United States Air Force for 24 years. He served in Greece, Germany, Viet Nam, Turkey, Libya, and Saudia Arabia. He also retired from Irsik and Doll Feed services in 1992. He enjoyed woodcrafts and was a Ham Radio Operator. He was a member of the American Legion Ball-McColm Post #5, VFW Lowry Funston Post #1980, Eagles Club and was an active member of the Sertoma Club and assisted with the train at the Emporia Zoo.
He is survived by his step-daughters, Margie Crowell and husband Dennis and step-daughter Marie Nevill of Emporia, Kansas; brother, John Christian of Caruthersville, Missouri; sisters, Wanda McCall of Caruthersville, Missouri, Brenda Darnell of Braggadocio, Missouri and Patricia Whitson of Caruthersville; seven step-grandchildren and thirteen step-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, son, Rauf Christian and brothers, Donald Christian and Raburn Clell Christian, and sister Rebecca Christian Eledge Simonton; step-son, Howard Carrier.
Cremation has taken place. Private Family inurnment will be at Cottonwood Cemetery.
