MT. AETNA MAN ARRANGED

FOR HIS FUNERAL.




Mt. Aetna, April 10.--The funeral

of Washington Katterman, who was

postmaster at this place for 22 years,

was held from his residence on

Lancaster street. The remains were

attired in a black suit and were

covered with a blanket. The body

reposed in a solid walnut casket

with silver handles and a plate on

the lid inscribed with the name and

age of the deceased, "I. W. Katter-

man, aged 66 years, 9 months and

19 days," respectively. Rev. David F.

Longacre, Stouchsburg, and Rev. I.

Moyer Hershey, Myerstown, officiated.

Further services were conducted in

Long's Church, Stouchsburg. In-

terment was made in the cemetery

adjoining. The deceased had se-

lected the bearers who were James

Schlasman, Samuel Anspach, Samuel

Dieffenbach, Harry Helm, John

Baney and Herman Himmelberger.

He had also selected the text and

hymns, as follow: Five verses of

Psalm 126; "Nearer My God to

Thee," "My Jesus I Love Thee" and

"Jesus Saviour Pilot Me." The

hymn "Asleep in Jesus" was sung by

the factory employees at the grave

and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" at

the house.

The Tributes.

The tributes were as follows: Car-

nations, Mr. Greenburg, Myerstown;

sweet peas, Leah Moyer and Mr. and

Mrs. Thomas Sherman, Shillington;

carnations, nieces, Gertrude and

Carrie, and husband; mixed flowers,

niece, Mrs. Merle Harris, and hus-

band, and William Boeshore, of

Hershey; carnations, Harry H. Lie-

bovitz, New York; carnations and

sweet peas, shirt factory employees;

wreath, James Peiffer and family;

lilies, brother-in-law, Job Klopp,

Schenectady, N. Y.; gladioluses,

mother-in-law, Mrs. Emma Klopp,

and brother-in-law, John Klopp,

both of Myerstown; American

Beauty roses, George Klopp and

family, Indianapolis, Ind.; lilies,

carnations and sweet peas, widow;

sweet peas, John Shugar, Lebanon.

Undertaker Bahney, of Myers-

town, had charge.
