DAN SHELTON DEAD

After being in poor health for several years and confined to his bed since last June, Daniel Morgan Shelton died at his home east of Unionville last Saturday night at 11:30 o’clock.
He had been suffering for years from a gun shot wound received while serving in the Union army, and from rheumatism contracted during his military service. Last June he was stricken with paralysis of the lower limbs and has been confined to his bed since. A change of the worse took place Friday morning and he sank steadily till the end came.
Mr. Shelton was born in Clinton Co., Kentucky, June 13, 1840, being 61 years, 4 months and 16 days of age at his death.
With his parents he came to Putnam County in 1845 and has since been a useful and respected resident of the county. He married Miss Winifred Crabtree and to their union was born 6 children, 5 sons and one daughter—of these, four sons, Kilmer, John, Ira and Ernest, are living.
The funeral took place from the family residence Monday at noon. The sermon was delivered by Rev. D. C. Fosber and the remains attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends, were buried in Thompson Cemetery.
