According to family records, a reading of her marker indicated that it read: "Mastison, Sibbah wife of Daniel and mother of Lewis Adams 1768-1848 age 79 Years". The marker cannot currently be located. SIBBAH1 (ADAMS) was born ca 1768 in VA, and died ca 1848 in Concord Twp., Champaign Co., OH. She married (2) DANIEL MASTISON ca 1830 in ????. He was born ca 1765 in ????, and died Bet. 1835 - 1840 in ????. Notes for SIBBAH (ADAMS): Sibbah was reportedly a slave of the William Adams family of Jefferson County, Virginia. Jefferson County was located in that part of Virigina that became the State of Kentucky in 1792. She was probably born in "Old Virginny". Sibbah's grave site in Johnson Cemetery, Concord Twp., Champaign County, Ohio was cited in "Burial Places of Champaign County, Ohio" (1936) --Caroline R. Nixon and Emma Nixon Bolton. The inscription read as follows " Mastison, Sibbah M., wife of Daniel and mother of Lewis Adams. Died 1848 age 79y". Sibbah's emancipation date is unknown, however the 1820 Federal Census records for Champaign County, Ohio indicate she was living with her son, Lewis, at that time. (reference: my cousin, Mr. Arthur Thomas, Springfield, OH)Wife of Daniel Mastison
Mother of Lewis Adams

*It would seem "Adams" was her first marriage & "Mastison" was her second. Unsure of maiden name. Any additional information would be appreciated.
