Funeral services for Mr. Donrae Brantley, 85, of Farmerville will be 11:00am Saturday, Aug. 20th at Wards Chapel Church of Christ with Bros. Larry White and Hugh Gower officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Hill/Taylor Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.

Mr. Brantley passed away on Aug. 17, 2011. He was retired from Hill Oil after working there 61 years. He was a lifelong member of Wards Chapel Church of Christ. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie & Lillie Mae Brantley; his first wife, Sallie Smith Brantley; 2 brothers: Jurd Brantley and Theron Brantley.

Survivors are his wife, Jerusha "Jerry" Thurston Brantley; 2 sons: Donnie Brantley & wife, Vicki of Farmerville and Stanley Brantley & wife, Lynne of Huntingdon, TN; 2 brothers: Joe Brantley and Gale "Hoss" Brantley & his wife, Barbara; 1 sister: Goldie Gray and 2 sisters-in-law: Faith Brantley and Peggy Brantley all of Farmerville; 3 grandsons: Jamie Brantley & wife, Becky; Brandon Brantley & wife, Nikki all of Farmerville and Eric Brantley & wife, Helen of Apex, N.C.; 7 great grandchildren; 6 step-children: Jeannie Browning & husband, E. T. of Lake Charles, LA; Cindy Brantley & husband, Virgil; Steve Thurston; Mike Thurston all of Linville; Amy Thomas & husband, Billy of Spencer and Frances Lee Thurston of Bossier City; 15 step-grandchildren; 13 step great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Pallbearers are Jamie Brantley, Brandon Brantley, Eric Brantley, Kerry Hill, Scott Hill and Chester Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Dan Albritton, Shorty Aulds and the men of Wards Chapel Church of Christ.

Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday at the Farrar Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wards Chapel Church of Christ building fund.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Chester Williams for his loving care and to the staff of Arbor Rose and Union General Hospital during his lengthy illness.

Sgt. William D. Brantley, son of Mr. & Mrs. W. B. Brantley, Farmerville, attended Farmerville High.  Entered Army in 1944, trained at Camp Shelby, Mississippi.  Served in ETO. Awarded ETO Ribbon with 2 Battle Stars.
