Retired Area Minister Dies
The Rev. Ross Lowman of 207 N. Douglas St., West Frankfort, died at 4 p.m. Monday in his home. He was a retired minister of the Baptist Church. He was born June 28, 1897, in Equality, the son of Hosea and Izetta Martin Lowman. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Last Man's Club and the World War I Barracks 537. The Rev. Mr. Lowman leaves his wife, Lillian; a son, Paul of Springfield, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Margie Brown of West Frankfort; seven grandchildren; one brother, Clarence of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and sisters, Mrs. Clista Fleming of Mt. Vernon, Ind., and Mrs. May Rowe of Herrin. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in East Fork Baptist Church near West Frankfort. The Rev. Vern Watson of Jacksonville will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Stone Funeral Home in West Frankfort.
