Clifford S. Corey Jr.
MARINETTE, Wis. - Mr. Clifford "Corey" S. Corey Jr., 73, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Bay Area Medical Center of Marinette, WI. Funeral services were held at Thielen Funeral Home on Tuesday. Entombment was in Forest Home Mausoleum.

He was born June 25, 1931, in Greenville, N.C., to the late Clifford and Ethel Corey.

He graduated from high school in 1949.
After high school, he joined the United States Coast Guard and served for 20 years. After his years in the U.S. Coast Guard, he worked as a rural route driver for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years until retiring in 1992.

He was married to Barbara Schwerzler on July 19, 1968, in Marinette. She preceded him in death in August of 2004.

He was a member of the Menominee American Legion Post No. 146. Clifford loved working on cars, remodeling houses and helping his children any way he could.

He also was preceded in death by a [step] son, Curtis "Goobin";
a brother, Otis;
and a sister, Kathleen.

He is survived by his [step]children, Linda Djupstrom, Marjorie Nystrom and husband, Michael and Penny Dobbins, all of Marinette, and Bonnie Brissette and husband, George, of Porterfield;
two brothers: James and wife, Sabra, of Glen Burnie, Md.,
and Bobbie and wife, Mary, of Pensacola, Fla.;
a sister, Magdalene Avery of Greenville, N.C.;
nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends called at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorials to the Marinette Rescue Squad would be appreciated. While we will miss him here on earth, we know he is happy to be reunited with his beloved wife, son, mother, father, brother, and sister.
