Guy Reed Stahlman, of Emlenton R. D. 2, was found dead along the highway near his home on Monday morning, November 9. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Born in Jefferson County August 16, 1888, he was the son of David W. and Sydney (Himes) Stahlman. He was married to Gertrude McManigle, who preceded him in death in 1952. Mr. Stahlman moved in 1928 to Emlenton from Brookville, where he has spent more than forty years of his life. He was employed by the Quaker State Refining Corporation from which he retired in 1954. Surviving are a son, J. Reed Stahlman, of Emlenton and three grandchildren; Robert D. Stahlman of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; James R. Stahlman, of Wayne, Mich. and Leland D. Stahlman of Port Allegany. Four great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m., at Criswell Funeral Home in Emlenton, with Rev. James Gillespie of the United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment was in Crawford Memorial Cemetery in Emlenton.

NOTE: From Twila Cowan: Various records indicate his birthday as Sept. 16, 1888 not August. My Aunt Mae questioned his year of death as 1961 or 1964. She did not have his obituary.
