He was born August 30, 1929 in rural Pawnee County; the son of Harvey and Maggie Unruh. A lifetime area resident he was a farmer-stockman.
He was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Ash Valley; the United Methodist Church, Rozel, the Rozel CO-OP Board, Pawnee County 4-H, Rush Center Masonic Lodge and the Pawnee Heights Booster Club. On May 31, 1957, he married Louise Wilson at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Ash Valley. She survives.
Other survivors include; a son, Ray, Hastings - on - Hudson, New York; a daughter Deanne Unruh, Eugene, Oregon, two sisters, Marjorie Zumalt, Joplin, Missouri , JoAnn Halling, Jetmore, Gorden Rodrock, Mt. Vernon, MO. and one grandson, Turner Unruh, Hastings - on - Hudson, New York.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with the Rev. Brad McCoy presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
