Former Syracuse resident Stanley J. Mazur, 79, died Friday in McAllen, Texas.
A native of Syracuse, Mr. Mazur lived in Pharr, Texas, for 15 years. He retired in 1976 after 33 years with Crucible Specialty Metals.
Mr. Mazur was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. A Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Mazur was a member of James Nikki Rowe Post 2369, VFW.
Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Doyle; a sister, Helen J. Wolek of Syracuse; a brother, Edward J. of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hollis Funeral Home and 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 1105 W. Genesee St.
