Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine Newton, 72, of Vinemont, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Johnny Bennefield officiating. Interment will follow at Cullman City Cemetery.

Mrs. Newton passed away on Friday, Sept 30, 2011 at her residence. She was born on Friday, June 3, 1939 in Blount County to the late Chester and Lucille Cargo Warren. She was a past member of Clark Street Church of God, now Sprit Life Church of God, and now a member of Vinemont Church of God.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Neva Cheri Newton and 2 brothers, Emmitt Earl Warren and Charles Edward Warren.

Survivors include her husband, Edward "Pete" Newton of Vinemont; son, Barry Gene Newton of Homewood; 3 sisters, Jo (Buddy) Fowkler of West Point, Barbara (Charles) Armstrong of Odenville and Diann Parish of Ashville; 1 goddaughter, Ashlee LaRue Brown of Ashville.
