She was born October 28, 1919 to John Henry and Nellie Rose Herzog Mumford in Raymond, Idaho. Vilda married Joseph Lee Lloyd on February 15, 1937 at Paris, Idaho.
Vilda and Lee started their life together on the farm at Alton, Idaho where they raised their children and lived until they retired in 1973. The many visitors that stopped were always treated with home cooked meals. She was well known for her wonderful cinnamon rolls, pies and bread.
She worked side by side with Lee on the farm including milking the cows as well as keeping a well-kept home. She rarely sat down without knitting, crocheting, sewing or making things for others.
Their retirement years were spent traveling and spending winters in Quartzsite, Arizona. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Vilda is survived by daughters, Jill (Stan) Jensen and JoAnn (Walt-deceased) Rhodes; six grandchildren, Sheila Sutton, Annette Loehr, Lloyd Duran, Mike Duran, Jon Duran and Jody Shelley; 13 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; sisters, Alta Lloyd, Ambernell Wixom and Darlene Sorenson; and two sons-in-law, Ambrose Duran and Larry Bentsen.
Vilda was preceded in death by her husband, three daughters, parents, one brother, Donal Mumford, sisters Fernwood Mumford, Melba Bagley and Marva Lytle.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Noon in the Montpelier LDS Second Ward Chapel (585 N. 8th Street). Friends may call that morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
