She came to America with her parents in the year 1855, crossing the Atlantic ocean in a sail ship, which required four month's time to make the voyage.

With her parents she traveled from New York City to Salt Lake City in an emigrant train, in a wagon drawn by oxen.

They lived in the latter city about two years and then moved to Holt county, Missouri.

On September 25, 1867, she was married to D. F. Blanton at Forest City, Missouri. To this union nine children were born, seven of whom survive her, two children dying in infancy.

In the year 1904, Mr. and Mrs. Blanton moved to Oklahoma Territory and filed on a homestead in what is now the western part of Harper county.

For a number of years they endured the hardships of pioneer life incident to the settling and upbuilding of our state and county. For the past 15 years they have lived in Laverne.
