JAMES HENRY ROY
second and only surviving son of
W. H. & Ann S. Roy
Who was born January 10th. 1827
and died September 18th. 1853
in the prime of early manhood
Embodying in a manly frame a vigorous and cultivated
intellect a character of spotless integrity and a
disposition genial and generous,
He had commenced under happy auspices
and amid general esteem a career
of honor and usefulness, but a vic-
tim to untimely disease, he could only by his noble
constancy under suffering and the Christian resigna-
tion of his death illustrate the lofty qualities which
in life must have achieved for him success and dis-
tinction and which now it is reverently hoped are more
gloriously displayed in a blessed immortality.
